The governing body of the NWSDBEU is the Executive Committee (EX.CO.) headed by the President of NWSDBEU. The 22 member NWSDBEU EXCO has 12 Executive Committee members and 10 office bearers, namely the President,Ex-President, President-Elect, Honorary Secretary, two Vice Presidents, the Editor, Two Assistant secretaries and the Treasure. In addition, to represent the membership that is serving in all four corners of the country, NWSDBEU has a group of “Regional Representatives”. The NWSDBEU Executive Committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting by the general membership. The Executive committee meets regularly once a month with the chairmanship of the president.
NWSDBEU is renown in the Water & Water Reclaim sector for its involvement as a strong pressure group on key policy issues. NWSDBEU has always given the membership the strength and courage to work impartially and to take correct decisions abiding by the ethics governing the profession. NWSDBEU is proud of its history and looks forward to serve the membership and the Water sector of the country in the years to come.
The National Water Supply and Drainage Board Engineers’ Union (NWSDBEU) is a Trade Union Registered under the Trade Union Ordinance, bearing the Registration number 7139. Any Engineer working in the NWSDB, irrespective of the discipline, is eligible to be a member of the NWSDBEU. With a proud history of over 4 decades of existence, NWSDBEU today is a force to be reckoned with having over 475 engineers in its ranks.
Objectives
- To secure the complete organization in the union of all workers employed in the capacity of Engineers of National Water supply & Drainage Board.
- To watch, promote, safeguard and further the interests, rights and privileges of its members.
- To ameliorate the economic conditions of its members.
- To provide for the members any or all of the following benefits :
- Relief in victimization trade disputes and such other aid in connection With their employment.
- Legal assistance and legal advice where necessary in connection with their employment.
- To regulate relations between employer and employee, between the union and other trade unions and between members of the union and their employers or between one member and other members.
- To represent members in trade disputes.
